Macromonomers achieve a perfect balance of crystallinity and amorphousness, as well as hydrophilicity and water repellency not possible with other monomers and linear polymers. This enables us to improve the functions of paints, forming materials, pressure sensitive adhesives, mold release agents,etc.

Characteristics

Our macromonomers are high quantity monomers with polymerizable functional groups. Graft polymers with few homopolymers can be made easily by copolymerizing them with other monomers. These graft polymers exhibit a balance between trade-off performance characteristics (softness/hardness, crystal/amorphous, hydrophilic/ hydrophobic, etc.) that cannot be achieved with linear polymers. By using these monomers, we can improve the functions of paints, forming materials, pressure sensitive adhesives, mold release agents.

Graft Polymers

Product name SYMAC, RESEDA®

Toagosei’s original macromonomers compounding technologies and graft polymerization technologies produce a variety of characteristics in our graft polymers. SYMAC is used as a coating agent that has the characteristics of both silicone and acrylic, and RESEDA® is used as a compatibility accelerator for its superior compatibility and adhesion.

Surface Modification Using SYMAC (Silicone Graft Polymer)

SYMAC is a comb-shaped graft polymer that combines a silicone macromonomers and an acrylic monomer through copolymerization.

With the performance of both silicone and acrylic, this acrylic/silicone coating agent has excellent lubricating properties, mold releasing properties, adhesion, and heat resistance, and it is useful for lubricating coating agents and mold release coating agents.

Polymer Blend Compatabilizing Mechanism (Nylon/ABS) RESEDA® (Compatibility Accelerating Resin)

RESEDA® is a reactive graft polymer with reactive functional groups introduced into its principal chain.

It can be used in diverse applications as a compatibility accelerator for resins, dispersants, surface modifiers, and the like.
